Middle of August

What a great start of the 2017-2018 school year! I've had the chance to meet MANY of our families and couldn't be happier to join the efforts to continue to make the Downtown School a wonderful place for EACH of our students. Please see below for events, dates, and information coming up at The Downtown School.

As always, please reach out with any questions. We are here to serve! :-)

Eclipse Event

We are lining up the details on how best to expose our students safely to the Eclipse that will be best visible to us on August 21st from roughly 11:30 - 1:30 (peaking at 1:08 PM). We are currently having 50 Eclipse glasses shipped (fingers crossed), but in the meantime if you have any connections or see any for free grab as many as you can! Thanks for your help! We will double check to make sure all glasses are approved under the Federal Guidelines before they are dispersed to students.

Significant safety training will occur within each of our classes and we welcome parents to attend over the noon hour to help assist adherence to safety procedures (exact schedule details to come from classroom teachers). Please send the permission slip to your classroom teacher if you would like your student to experience the outdoor viewing (attached to original email). We will have an alternative plan for students to watch it live online if your family decides to opt out. (Live Stream)
