Fighting Hunger Makes ‘Cents’ to Downtown School Students

A group of students creating Meals from the Heartland.Downtown School students filled pockets, bags and bottles with loose change and brought it to school hoping to make an impact on hunger in some of the world’s most impoverished areas. The result of digging deep into purses, drawers and couches was $2,174, enough to package 20,088 meals. Thank you to Meals from the Heartland for a helpful, hope-filled partnership and a day of learning about measurements, math and social responsibility. Go Falcons!
