Come and enjoy a casual, adults-only evening of music, conversation and community Friday, May 20 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Noce Jazz Cabaret, 1326 Walnut Street. There’s no cover charge and snacks are provided. Music is provided by “Asphalt and Stained Glass” featuring DTS parent Amy Wallman-Madden. The event is sponsored by the PTA.

Downtown School parents were told to bring comfortable clothes and water bottles to the school’s latest culminating event. Students spent the last several months using their P.E. time to work with parent volunteer Jamie Seitz learning dances from throughout the decades. Downtown School teacher Dana Allen saw her students becoming more interested in earning prizes than the reason behind the school’s annual fundraiser, so she decided to challenge them to go deeper, and present their findings directly to the American Heart Association. At DMPS, we work to ensure that students are receiving a great education in schools that are not only first-rate learning environments, but are also safe and secure. Over the years DMPS has taken many steps to better ensure the safety and well being of our students, staff, parents and visitors. Student-led Parent/Teacher Conferences are essential to a student’s academic growth, so attendance is required. If you and your student(s) miss conferences, the district counts it as an unexcused absence. If you have a special circumstance and need to make other arrangements, please contact your teacher(s) directly as soon as possible.

The students in Mr. Miller’s 2nd and 3rd grade class weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty at their Water Science Fair. From water density to how subs submerge, surface tension to rainbows in a box, students demonstrated their knowledge of that valuable resource we all use everyday!
