5/6 year old Learning Groups – Week of December 13, 2013

We have been busy at the Downtown School.  Barbara Leise’s and Jeffrey Kerns’ learning groups have been studying restaurants.  They will culminate their study by sharing with parents during the week of December 16th.  Jennifer Jones’ and Michelle Wheeler’s learning groups have been learning about community service and are now working on a math mini for a project.  Anne Booth’s and Christine Mathews’ learning groups have been studying the school lunch program and process.  They visited the Des Moines Public Schools Central Nutrition Center, the Central Campus kitchen and lunch line and the Downtown School lunch line. The students will culminate their project the week of December 16th by sharing their learning with their families.
