A Message from the DTS PTA

Your Downtown School PTA is pleased to bring you many fun activities throughout the year. Did you miss your chance to sign up at registration? It’s easy to join! Just send us an email at downtownschoolpta@gmail.com and drop off your check for $10 in the mailbox just inside the school entrance.

Here are some PTA-sponsored activities and general school events coming up during the next month:
• Sept. 11 at noon is our next general PTA meeting in the school library. Join your PTA Board representatives and other parents to learn more about what’s going on that impacts our school.
• Sept. 14 from 6-8 p.m., come to the Downtown School garden for our Meet The Principal ice cream event! Grab a sitter for the kids and we’ll see you there.
• Sept. 18 is picture day. Smile!
• Sept. 24 is our Back To School Picnic at Union Park from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Feel free to bring dinner for your whole family to enjoy at the park, check out the Rocket Slide and join us on the Heritage Carousel for free rides.

Mrs. Clark is looking for volunteers!
Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer at the school? If so, Mrs. Clark is looking for someone to work the riso (our super awesome copy machine) and keep our literacy assessment files full. This involves making master copies, duplexing, collating, and stapling. If you can help her out, please contact her directly at amanda.clark@dmschools.org.

Sign up to be a lunch or recess volunteer!
We need parent volunteers to help each day as monitors during lunch and recess. Please take a look at the links below and sign up for few shifts as your schedule allows. Thank you for for supporting our teachers and staff!
